- Make sure that all painted furniture and wooden toys are lead-free. 
- Buy a crib with slats less than 2-3/8 inches (6 centimeters) apart, and fix an old duvet onto them, under the mattress.

An Australian mother who gave birth to quintuplets in January has released a photo shoot of her unlikely new arrivals. Perth resident Kim Tucci, 26, took just two minutes to give birth to her four daughters and one son, who were conceived naturally. A team of 50 doctors and nurses assisted with the planned caesarean and all of the children were born healthy.

The American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) recommends breast milk as the best nutrition for babies. Babies should be breastfed exclusively for the first six months, according to the AAP. After other foods have been introduced, the AAP encourages mothers to continue to breastfeed until baby is at least a year old, and as long after that as both mother and child are willing.
